First introduce to the label by Keon Andre ( L.U.V.) were he laced soulful hooks on tracks like “fire” and “They Say” his phenomenal talent as a song stylist disproves his relative rookie status in the industry. Hailing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this singer/songwriter/arranger combines a smooth, yet strong blend of musical arrangements with modern, hip-hop inspired beats to create a rich collection of sultry ballads and Hip hop-soul tunes, with styles evoking comparisons to De’ Angelo, John Legend, and Justine Timberlake all rolled into one.

 

After being grafted in by Regime Platinum Gregory “Ginx” Doby has helped expand Carlton’s music career, in 2008 Carlton wrote and performed the song “Roots” which landed a spot on the motion picture soundtrack of Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, a movie starring Martin Lawrence. Impressed by Kedar Massenburg, former CEO of Motown records and executive producer of the soundtrack. Massenburg said, “Signed or not, this song has to be on the soundtrack.

 

CTJr is currently recording and preparing his debut album, while building a catalog of his music to showcase his skills as a singer, songwriter, producer and arranger. The lead single for his Untitled debut album is called “Radio”, which he wrote and produced. The single draws inspiration from Van Morrison’s 1970 classic “Caravan”. CT makes an enterprising attempt to bridge the generational musical gap. The lyrically witty and brass heavy “Radio” successfully evokes the sounds of classic soul music with a New-age hip-hop flavor.
